With Asia and the greater Pacific rim quickly becoming a collection of top yachting destinations, supporters including owners, operators, shipyards and others suppliers within the industry felt the time was right to launch the Asia-Pacific Superyacht Association. Their goal is to promote local destinations, provide information and access to services and unify the industry infrastructure. The initial opening ceremony took place on the 5th of May.
Ranging from the Seychelles in the Indian Ocean to Hong Kong the South China Sea, the lure of the Orient seduces travelers to many ports of call in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, China, the Philippines and many others. Partially due to the enormous increase in yacht production and yacht ownership in China and India and due to the sheer beauty of the islands, travelers are venturing into what is becoming known as the world’s ‘third cruising destination’.
The Asia-Pacific Superyacht Association hopes to serve the needs of superyachts that are venturing into the region.
