Tips For Enjoying The Fort Lauderdale Boat Show

The 2012 Fort Lauderdale International is nearing – the show starts Oct. 25th. And while you may have been to the show a number of times before – or you’re a first timer – here are a few tips for enjoying your time on the docks.

First, get a clear picture or where you’re going. Things do change from year to year. If you’re keeping a schedule, it’s good to have a sense of where boats you want to see are located or where a certain vendor has set up their booth. Similarly, you may want to plan on how you’re getting from place to place during the show – Saturday can be an especially crowded day. Here is a link to parking and transport options at the show.

Are you there to talk with yacht brokers? Cruising the docks to see the luxury yachts? Wanting to see the latest toys for your boat? You may want to do that on the first two days of the show when there are less people and smaller crowds. Your one on one time with representatives will be far more valuable. The weekend days – Saturday and Sunday see the largest crowds and everyone’s ability to spend quality time together decreases.

Tips for going to FLIBS

Get to special events, seminars and training sessions early to get a seat. Be patient. Some docks, some boats, boothes and sessions will receive more attentions than others.

One smart thing to do if you have a smartphone is to download the FLIBS App – you can do that here.

Want to dine in some of the better Fort Lauderdale restaurants? Now is a good time to call for reservations, especially for those restaurants near the boat show.

It’s also good to read through the Boat Show FAQs at the FLIBS website. Click here for the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show FAQs.

Also, book appointments with people now. Trying to arrange schedules while at the show can be more difficult.
